This page provides an overview of telehealth services offered by Jennifer Logan Therapy and summarizes important information about participation in therapy via telehealth. Full informed consent will be reviewed and obtained prior to the start of services.
Telehealth Services
All therapy services are provided via secure telehealth platforms. Telehealth allows clients to receive therapy remotely using video conferencing technology rather than meeting in person.
Telehealth sessions are conducted in real time and are intended to meet the same professional and ethical standards as in-person therapy.
Licensure & Location Requirements
Therapy services are provided only to clients who are physically located in:
- California
- Florida
At the time of each session, clients must be located in one of these states. We are unable to provide therapy services to individuals located outside of these jurisdictions.
Benefits of Telehealth
Potential benefits of telehealth include:
- Increased accessibility and convenience
- Reduced travel time
- Greater scheduling flexibility
- Continuity of care during travel, illness, or life transitions (within licensed states)
Risks & Limitations of Telehealth
While telehealth can be effective, there are limitations and risks, including:
- Technology failures or interruptions
- Potential privacy risks inherent in electronic communication
- Reduced ability to respond to emergencies compared to in-person care
- Clients are encouraged to participate from a private, secure location and to use reliable internet and devices.
Privacy & Confidentiality
Reasonable safeguards are used to protect confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and professional standards. However, no electronic communication can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Clients are responsible for ensuring their physical environment supports privacy during sessions.
Emergency & Crisis Situations
Telehealth therapy is not appropriate for emergencies.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or are in crisis:
Call 911, or
Contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (U.S.)
Emergency procedures and local resources will be discussed as part of the full informed consent process.
Contact Forms & Website Communication
Contact forms and email communication through this website:
- Are intended for general inquiries or scheduling only
- Are not appropriate for urgent or emergency concerns
- Do not establish a therapist-client relationship
A therapeutic relationship is established only after intake, informed consent, and mutual agreement to begin services.
Consent Process
Prior to beginning therapy:
- Clients will receive full informed consent documentation
- Telehealth-specific risks, benefits, and alternatives will be reviewed
- Written consent will be obtained
Participation in telehealth services is voluntary, and clients may withdraw consent at any time.
